Doha, Qatar | April 22, 2025 — On April 24, 2025, the Green Zone Foundation (GZF) will sign a landmark agreement with UNESCO at the UN House in Doha to promote the Arabic language as a powerful tool for cultural connection and diplomacy. The signing will take place during the celebration of the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, under the theme: “Arabic Language as a Cultural Bridge for African Multilateral Diplomacy.”
This event will highlight the remarkable contributions of the Arabic language to the cultural and linguistic diversity of humanity and explore its enduring influence across regions—particularly within Africa. Arabic has long served as a bridge between civilizations, connecting people through shared history, values, and traditions. The agreement marks a significant step in reinforcing Arabic’s role in fostering dialogue, promoting peace, and strengthening cooperation among nations.
The celebration will gather ambassadors, diplomats, scholars, and cultural leaders, with special emphasis on the participation of African embassies. These embassies will contribute to a workshop by presenting key national initiatives that support the integration of the Arab diaspora into their societies, showcasing the economic, social, and cultural impact of Arabic heritage in Africa.
The GZF-UNESCO agreement is expected to support educational programs, language resources, and intercultural exchanges that elevate the status of Arabic as a global language of diplomacy, heritage, and development.
By signing this agreement on such a meaningful occasion, GZF and UNESCO reaffirm their joint commitment to promoting linguistic diversity and using language as a catalyst for peace and multilateral cooperation, particularly between the Arab world and the African continent.
